Maurice Givens turned to writing mystery stories after publishing academic research papers on applied mathematics. He is a retired researcher and educator performing research in applied mathematics for signal processing with a research institute, industry, as an expert for an agency of the U.N., and over 20 years as Adjunct Professor of Mathematics.
Maurice has stories published in multiple magazines and anthologies, including Crimeucopia and Malice Domestic. Maurice is a member of Mystery Writers of America, Crime Writers of Color, and Short Mystery Fiction Society. He has studied with Story Studio of Chicago, Mystery Writers of America Midwest Chapter (MWAMW), and The Midwest Writers Workshop at Ball State University. He also studied with a published author in a year-long mentorship. Photography is Maurice’s other creative outlet. He and his wife, Susan, live in Chicago, Illinois.
